ELSE is a hair studio in Teneriffe, created by Kate and Jordan.
We built ELSE to feel relaxed and unforced: a space where our team has room to create, and clients can feel comfortable being themselves.
We specialise in colour, K-Tip extensions, and cuts, with every appointment approached individually to suit our clients’ precise needs.
HOW ELSE BEGAN
ELSE grew from Kate and Jordan’s shared experience across hairdressing, extensions, education and independent salon spaces.
We wanted to create a studio that gave people different ways to build their careers without losing the feeling of being part of a team.
Today, ELSE brings employed and independent stylists together in one shared space. Each stylist has their own experience, approach and areas of expertise, while sharing the same environment and standard of care.
OUR APPROACH
Hair should feel individual.
Rather than following one set formula, we begin with the person—their hair, lifestyle, routine and what they want to achieve.
Our team works across lived-in colour, dimensional brunettes, coppers, K-Tip extensions, cutting, texture and styling. This allows clients to find someone whose experience and approach feel right for them.
THE STUDIO
The studio was designed with the same intention as the work created within it. Warm timber and natural oak sit alongside concrete, stainless steel, chrome and glass. The balance of warm and raw materials creates a space that feels calm, modern and easy to spend time in.
ELSE is located in Teneriffe, close to the Brisbane River and our sibling studio, Level 10.
KATE + JORDAN
ELSE was founded by Kate and Jordan.
Kate specialises in custom K-Tip extensions, texture matching and extension education.
Jordan is a colourist specialising in lived-in hair, dimensional colour and cutting.
Together, they created ELSE as a relaxed studio where individual artists can work alongside one another, and clients can find the right specialist for their hair.
